Straight Pins

These pins have sharpened tip and have a head.
It is also called "header pin" and "insect pin".
The materials are various, such as nickel plating steel, stainless steel, the brass.
As the size having short around 13-19mm in length is used for Sequin (spangles handicrafts) well in Europe and America, it is called sekuimpin.
The size about 27mm in length is used as stationery in Japan.

Insect Pins

Insect pins are used for specimen making mainly.
These are  processed thin and long not to injure a specimen and the head are small than a normal straight pins.
After making the specimen, stainless steel with high corrosion resistance is used so that the needle does not rust during storage.
There are two kinds of with and without head.
Diameter: φ 0.3 - φ 0.65

Concrete Pins

This is nailed to the concrete or the plasterboard.
In order to insert into hard objects, this is hardened and increase this hardness.
It is possible to adjust the hardness by changing quenching conditions.

Quenching Pins

The needle shaft is cured by heating the needle to a high temperature and then rapidly cooling to change the composition.
As it is hard to bend compared to ordinary needles, it is useful to insert into a hard object.
